Greater Milwaukee Credit Union recognizes the importance of protecting your privacy. It is a priority of Greater Milwaukee Credit Union to keep your financial information safe and secure. We are required by law to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal information. In the course of doing business, we offer you services and products to improve our service, and provide you with faster, more convenient and higher quality service. But in order to do this; we may be required to share information about you to complete our transactions. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from a variety of sources and may disclose all the information we collect to companies that perform services on our behalf, or to other financial service providers with whom we have joint marketing agreements, or as required by law. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information. If you terminate your membership with Greater Milwaukee Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.

Types of information we collect and disclose. Sources of the information we collect and disclose include:

·         Applications for services: We obtain member names, addresses, and social security numbers for correspondence and tax reporting.

·         Transactions processing: Our systems record the deposits and withdrawals to your accounts.

·         Consumer reporting agencies: In making loan decisions, we use information from credit bureaus. When opening checking and savings accounts, we use information from reporting agencies that track account abuse and fraud. We also request employment information to verify employment.

Who we disclose the information to: Greater Milwaukee Credit Union uses various third parties and non-affiliated third parties with a joint marketing agreement to assist in offering financial services to members. For example, third parties are involved in the processing of transactions using credit cards, checks, ATM cards and debit cards. In each case when a third party is used for these services, the third party only receives information necessary to conduct the transaction, and may not disclose information about our members to any other parties or use it for unapproved purposes. We reserve the right to disclose information to affiliates and third parties in the future to whom we do not currently disclose. We do not permit these companies to sell to other third parties the information we provide to them.

We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to other financial service providers such as insurance companies and other such as companies that offer discounted promotional material unless you request to opt out of your information sharing. If you would like to request your information to not be shared other than those permitted by law, please fill out the opt out notice form below and mail it back to us.

E-mail communication

Greater Milwaukee Credit Union does not require you to provide any personally identifying information when you visit our website. When you communicate with us by e-mail, we use your e-mail address and other personal information for the specific purpose you requested, and for responding to your questions or comments. We may disclose information provide to us on a loan application to credit bureaus for the purpose of making loan decisions, but we will not sell, trade, or otherwise disclose personal identifying information unless we are compelled to do so by law. These links are offered as a service, and Greater Milwaukee Credit Union does not influence or control the material, nor supports products or materials offered on them. Greater Milwaukee Credit Union realizes the importance of keeping your non-public information safe and secure. We believe that the services and products we offer to you will be of value and interest. If you prefer that we do not disclose your non-public information other than required by law, to companies that offer discounted insurance programs, or other discounted services that may be of interest, you have the option to exercise your opt out right. You may mail this form to our main credit union office or stop in at any one of our branches and notify us of your request to opt out.

Notice to joint account holders: Anyone on the account is able to exercise the opt out of sharing information. We will regard an opt out request as if all members on the account have directed us to stop making disclosures. If you choose to change your mind, you can stop in to your local branch and have the stop removed.
